About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

WEATHER NOT CAMPING FRIENDLY!!!!

Cancelled!
Our trip to Old Man's Cave in Southern Ohio has been cancelled for this weekend! I was looking forward to it, but the temp is supposed to be below normal with rain, so we'll hopefully find a better weekend later on this summer. They have dirt pads, for the sites, and we didn't want to get stuck. Plus, I didn't want to have to wash the fiver outside either, all this rain is making me feel lazy! I guess I'm just a fair weather camper, but an any weather part timer/ future full timer.

All Roads Lead to Branson: Haha!
We have decided to take interstate 70 east to St Louis, and then go south after that. We have that much figured out, from looking at the maps we got from Triple A. By the way they have maps galore, and books for campgrounds all over the states for free if you are a member. So it is a good source for information. Mike came home with 6 maps and 4 books about campgrounds. We'll also use our Garmin GPS too, and see if the route we chose is different or the same. Then just for ha ha's we'll print out routes from Yahoo Maps and Google, just to see which has the easier route. Isn't the computer age wonderful?! LOL! We might as well use all our toys, and have fun with them, after all we put out the money for them, cos we thought we had to have them!

Tomorrow:
Tomorrow it's back up to my Brother's house for us, and hopefully some R & R, oops, I meant some activities or something exciting, anything will be good. We might stop at my Mom's house before we go back to the fiver for the evening. Then the plans are to have a nice steak dinner with my Brother and his Fiancee, and a good glass of wine! I imagine, then on Friday we'll go back to my Mom &Pop's, and spend the day with them. Not to worry it's only a 10 minute drive from my Brother's to my Mom's so we won't be wasting very much gas. Speaking of gas, the price has gone from $3.85 to $3.95 since we have been here!

Do all that traveling around while you can afford it. Diesel is steadily going up here in North Texas...by the time we hit the road we will be walking LOL
