I'VE GOT THAT TRAVEL ITCH !!

Ho HUM:
Not much has happened since I last posted. In fact our lives have been very BORING!!! I kept Kara all night, and of course she wanted to sleep in the fiver! Then yesterday I watched Autumn, and Tehya at their house. After I got home, I spent time getting caught up on every one's blogs, and not writing on my own blog. So, I'm sorry if ya looked and I hadn't updated my blog. That's what happened through Friday. Today so far it looks like it's going to be stormy most of the day, and I wanted to get my blog done in case the electricity goes out again. Before you ask, NO, I haven't got the oil lamps yet either, but then I haven't been to the store yet, so there's still hope for me! LOL!

Scratching That Itch:
It's no wonder that I'm ready to get back on the road! With things being so boring here, maybe it's just because I've been cooped up in the house because of my allergies. I'm slowly starting to feel better every day, and I check the pollen levels before I even step foot out the door. That is a mistake I'm not willing to repeat for awhile. If I didn't have a doctor's appointment on the 17th we would already be at my brother's or at a state park! Then of course, we have to be at Mike's Moms until the 22nd. On the 23rd we're on our way to Hershey, and Lancaster, PA. According to the weather I saw last night, it's supposed to be a beautiful week here in Ohio, so it sure gave me that travel itch. I've found out since we've had the fiver, that even just going to a state park is an adventure! December 26th is our full time date, so I'll have to be satisfied with short trips every month until then!

More Stuff to Move:
I have still got all kinds of things to be packed away from the living room. It's one room that we haven't even started on. Today we have to rearrange our bedroom here in the stix house to get my sewing table and sewing machines in there. With our son buying the house, we will still have our bedroom, and the garage area whenever we are home for our use. Just in case we can't travel, we'll have a small apartment in the 2 car garage, so we'll be prepared if one of us gets sick or we have to hang up our keys after a while. The garage is big enough to have a small kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and living room, and our bedroom is right behind the garage so all we have to do is make a doorway between the two. We won't even need to go in the house for anything, and we'll have our own entrance too. So that's how it works out on paper, may get more interesting when we start remodeling it! LOL! So that's it for today, see ya's in the RV Dreams chatroom tonight!

HOT, MUGGY, and STORMY - NO ELECTRIC !!!

Yesterday:
Wow, I was sure glad that we had AC yesterday! Especially since I couldn't go outside because of my allergies. Then yesterday, late afternoon it got really muggy, or humid, I guess you could say. About 5 p.m. it started to storm and about 5:30 our power went off! The lightening hit a transformer, so no electric, or internet for the rest of the evening! The power finally came back on about 10:15 p.m. By that time we were in bed, but I did get to read for a little while before I turned off the light. Every single time that happens I swear, well not too much, haha, that's another story, but anyway I say I am going to get some of the oil lamps and lamp oil for just those times when the electric goes out! Do I ever do it ? NOT!!! So anyway, it got me thinking about the people of yesteryear, before they had electricity. What would they have done when it got dark ? They probably went to bed, which explains how we all eventually got here in this world! Haha! Well, I did light some candles, but that didn't give off much light, plus it made it alot warmer in the bedroom. Mike said it looked like a wake, when I got all the candles lit! There still wasn't enough light to read my book by.

Since we are going to Hershey, and Lancaster, Pa it also got me thinking about the Amish we're going to see in Amish country. What do they do ? I know that they probably have oil lamps or some form of light, and I imagine that they go to bed very early since they get up very early also. BUT, what did the pioneers do besides use candles. Could we, as a very spoiled consumer get along, or live without electricity ? First off, NO internet! YIKES!! No microwaves, TV's , cable, washer's,dryers, for some hot water unless you have a gas hot water heater, some telephones, and how would we charge those stupid little cell phones we all have ? What would you do ? Could Mike and I live without electricity, I wonder, and I kind of doubt it! At least not life as we know it! I don't know if I would even want to try. Anyway that was my thoughts while we didn't have any electricity last night, and I couldn't get into the RV Dreams chat room ! So I was really glad when the electric was fixed!

The rain at least washed the pollen out of the air, so at least I'm not going to be stuck inside all the time now. I'll just have to keep looking at the pollen count for our area everyday at the weather channel. com, before I go outside for an extended period. Catch ya all tomorrow if I don't see ya in the RV Dreams chat room tonight!

HOME & ALLERGIES

Home: HAPPY 4th EVERYONE !!!!!!!
We arrived home on Friday the 4th of July. Corey came and got the Grand Girls, and off we header for Springfield to Mike's brother's house for a cookout. When they came down to take our place at Mike's Mom's house, they talked her into going back to their place in Springfield for a few days. Then Mike's sister Cindy was going to pick her up and take her home on Saturday. We had a good time getting together with everybody. We got home about 8p.m. and got ready for bed, we were both really tired. Then we got a call from the oldest son, Jamie, wanting me to watch Kara on Saturday. Of course, I said yes. Then we were up until almost 2 a.m. with Dutchess, my dog because of all the loud fireworks!

Saturday:
This morning, Jamie dropped Kara off at 9:15 a.m. I sure didn't want to get up, but I did. Kara was glad to see me, and I had missed seeing her too! She was going to stay with us until 5 p.m., then I was supposed to take her home. Well, at 3:45 p.m. Kara decided she wanted me to braid her hair in little braids ala, Bo Derrik, in the 80's, so i did that. It took me 4 hours, so needless to say she was late getting home.

Allergies:
My allergies have gone crazy since we've been home. All day I have been sneezing, and holding tissues to my nose. I don't know what set then off, unless it was having the windows open, and the attic fan on yesterday pulling air into the house. That could have done it, or just missing my allergy pill a couple of days this past week could have started it, but the central air is on now, and I'm not going outside for a few days. I hope to make it back to chat with all my friends in the RV Dreams Chat room tomorrow night, if I'm feeling better. I miss you all!
