This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! MISCELLANEOUS DAY

Miscellaneous Day:
Today we just did things that needed to be done. Mike put up a small fluorescent tube light above the sink in the fiver for me. I was tired of doing dishes without enough light. The one light in the kitchen was under the upper corner cabinet, and didn't provide enough light at the sink. I may have him put another one up under the microwave if I see I don't have enough light to cook with. We found an island cart for the kitchen, that we're going to get for extra counter space, and storage here in the fiver. I don't have a pantry in the kitchen, so I have no place for can goods. We have found that the upper corner cabinet is alot of wasted space, because number 1: I have to use a step stool to see what's in there, and number 2: There isn't enough light to see in there either. I'm thinking about putting the dishes and bowls in there, and then that would give me the cabinet above the sink for boxes of things, like rice, spaghetti, cereal, and light weight stuff like that, because all that stuff gets lost in the corner cabinet. I think that may solve some of my storage problems, and I can't put cans in an upper cabinet, because they're just too heavy. We may get a plastic tub to put some of the cans in in the basement storage area, and then I could stock up on the can stuff I use all the time. I want to get plastic containers for the cereal, rice, and things like that too, so I can clearly see what's in them. We think a label maker would also be a good investment, for the fiver too. We have found the last few weeks living in the fiver, that things need to be rearranged, that's for sure! We thought that we had things arranged the best possible way for our use, but we have found out that's just not the case now! Well, that has been our day today, so until next time...

WE'RE HOME

Monday:
We were ready to leave my brother's by noon on Monday. We arrived at Alum Creek State Park by 1:30. If you're ever there, ask about site L17, and if it's not reserved take it! It's a very peaceful site and ya have a great view of the lake! We took pics, and as soon as I get someone to show me how to post them I will. As I expected on this site I couldn't get internet, so I wasn't able to post here. For a late lunch, after we got set up, we had lunchmeat and cheese sammies, with chips. We spent a very enjoyable couple of days reading, relaxing, and being outside.

Tuesday:
We explored a little more here at the park, then ended up at Wally World, there's one everywhere, for a few items, then we had lunch at Taco Bell. After that we went back to the campsite and read our books outside. We grilled hot dogs for dinner and went inside to watch our movie. While we were at Wal-mart we bought a movie we hadn't seen, "I Am Legend" with Will Smith. We watched part of it and decided we wasted $13.00 on it. It was too gory for me, and Mike watched the rest after we got home, and he didn't like it's ending, but if ya like gory stuff, ya might like it.

Wednesday:
We got home on Wednesday about 2:00p.m. I fixed stuffed green peppers for dinner and put them in the crock pot. Mike took a nap after he got the fiver set back up, and I spent time in the house watering my plants, ( which almost died) because I forgot to tell Gary to water them. Then I brought Dutchess, my Dalmation out to the fiver to start acclimating her to it. She did pretty good, but I took her back to the house to spend the night with Gary's dog, Hannah. I want to bring her out to the fiver for a while each day before she spends the night out here with us.

Today:
Today we have errands to to and we need to buy some groceries too. Wow, this is a long blog for me, but I just wanted to bring you up to date on us since we didn't have internet until yesterday, and I was too tired after dinner to do my blog. I hope to spend some time in the RV Dreams chat room catching up with everybody tonite! So until then...

CLEANING DAY

Today:
We mostly cleaned up the fiver today. We changed the bed, put things away, and I did the dishes, so we would be ready to leave tomorrow afternoon. There's not much left to do but run the sweeper and dust. Since the Dirt Devil central vac is fried, I can't do the sweeping until we get home. I'll do the dusting in the morning, and put the dishes away, and anything breakable for the hour and 10 minute drive to Alum Creek state park. If all goes as planed we'll stay for two nights, and go home on Wednesday morning. After the fiasco the first time, of having to move 3 times, we now make specific reservations so we know what site we're going to be on. It sure makes life a lot easier, and less stressful!

Storage:
We're in the process of working on the fiver to make it more user friendly for us. We are moving things around, and looking for ways to add more storage. We have a lot of wasted space we're going to try to find ways to use. So wish us luck! Since most of the time there is just the two of us, and we have room in our closet, we're going to put two of our dining chairs in the closet until we need them. That will give us room for a couple of small cabinets to use for a pantry since we don't have one in our fiver. Most of the time we eat outside or in our recliners anyway. We're going to get a small kitchen cart to use as an island to give me more counter space, and work area. It has lockable wheels on it so it will be stationary, and we can lay it down when we're traveling if we need to. So that's two major problems solved. We also want to put up some extra lighting, above the sink, and behind our recliners for reading, and computer use.

Internet:
I'm not sure if we'll be able to get wifi where we're parking this time at Alum Creek, so if ya don't hear from me until Wednesday thats why, so let's hope I'll be able to do my blog tomorrow. Until then....
