About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

TAKING A BREAK!!!

Break time:
I have been takin' a beak from everything the last few days! Which in other words means I haven't been doing anything! I have all the boxes packed from the kitchen. When we get back from Mike's Mom's next week we will finish up the sewing room. I want to move my sewing machine into our bedroom, so while we are at home I can sew if I want.

Weather:
Probably the reason that I haven't felt like doing anything has to do with the weather. I think it has rained or been gloomy here in Springfield since Tuesday. Until then I was working everyday on packing things up in the kitchen. After that when the rain hit so did my good ole arthritis! I had to use my crutches to get around, which I don't like to do, but I have a pinched nerve that runs from my hip to my knee that gives me fits when it rains. I never know when it will pinch and my joints will buckle, and without my crutches I would go down. Both my hip and my knee on the left side have been replaced, so I don't know if they can do anything about it or not. I have to make an appointment in June after the RV Dreams Rally. Then we'll see if anything can be done. The only appointment that was available was during the rally, and that would not have worked. LOL!

Chillicothe:
We are going to Chillicothe on Sunday. I don't know if we will take the fiver to my brothers like we did last time or not. I would like to, but I don't think Mike wants to. We only have to stay at Mike's Moms through Wednesday, after that we're free the rest of the week. My brother lets us stay on his property for free, and we have electric, water, and internet also. Until next time Friends!

BUSY AS A BEE!

Busy:
The last 2 days I have been busy as the bees outside! I have packed more boxes of dishes, and cleaned out drawers. Yesterday I cleaned out the refrigerator, probably throwing away some very good science experiments. Don't ask me what the food was, I couldn't tell, cos it was green! This will be the last time I clean out the refrigerator in the house. After I get all the dishes and my sponge ware packed, I will give all the appliances a good cleaning for the last time. My son still has to get the other set of dishes from the attic, that I'm giving him. After that I can pack the rest of my dishes.

Sewing & Craft Room:
When I finish with the kitchen, the sewing & craft room is next on the list. We decided to move my sewing desk into our bedroom. It takes up alot of room, and with our bedroom being 14 X 22 there is plenty of room. I will have a whole corner of the room for my sewing . I'll still be able to quilt if I want. So it's all good!

Mike's Mom:
Next week we have to go back down and stay for the week. This will be happening frequently, as we're needed. Since we won't be available January through the end of March, we don't mind going down whenever we're needed until then. I am going to take my laptop, and hopefully we will be able to get wifi somewhere, even if we have to go to the library. Until tomorrow friends!

Packing

Packing:
Today I have spent packing the rest of the stuff on my kitchen walls. Now I'm getting ready to pack up my sponge ware collection, and some of my antique glass ware. A job I thought I was going to hate, has turned out to be enjoyable! We will be storing the stuff in our wooden shed, until we get things moved around in the garage. This next week I will be back to packing all my things in my sewing and craft room. I have to have it cleaned out by June, when we leave for the RV Dreams Rally.
I have been given lots of time to get things packed, and moved, which I think is really great of my Son.

Weather:
The sun is shining today and it is nice and warm in the sun. It wouldn't hurt if it was just a bit warmer though! Of course I'll probably wish I hadn't said that by June! I think I'm going to grill some pork chops for dinner. It will be the first time we have used the grill in quite a while, and it just sounds good! I also washed some curtains that I think I'll be able to hang outside to dry.

Trips Planned:
We have 2 trips planned for this summer. The first one is going to be the rally at Branson, Mo, in June. The second one will be to Hershey, Pa, in July We are going to go to Hershey Park one day and then to Lancaster, Pa, to visit the Amish country. I think that is the closest you can get to going back in time. The rest of the time we'll probably just play it by ear and go whenever and wherever we want.
