SATURDAY MORNING

Good Morning:
Just thought I'd get my post done early while I wait for Mike to get up. Kara and I have been up since 7:30 a.m. Kara got here yesterday about 4:30 p.m. We mostly just sat around and cuddled the rest of the evening. We haven't seen her since Christmas. I think every time I see her it looks like she has grown an inch. I may have to put a brick on her head to stop her growth spurt, or pretty soon she'll be as tall as me and only 9 years old! LOL! Kara is on Webkinz World on her Dad's computer, and you all know where I am. LOL! We have both had our hot tea and she has had some yogurt, and will probably have some toast and a piece of fruit. Me, I'll have my good ole Slimfast, I'm not much of a breakfast eater.

Electric Blanket:
Our electric blanket gave up the ghost last night! Actually it wasn't too bad without it, but I'll really miss it if it gets colder at night again. We have a king size bed and king size electric blankets are $100.00 and up. I don't know if we'll be able to replace it this month or not. We won't need it this weekend, that's for sure, with Kara sleeping with us it's like having a heater under the covers with ya! I don't know what she is going to do when she is too big to sleep with us, you can bet she'll be upset. Which at the rate she's growing won't be too much longer. She is my little snuggle bunny always wanting to cuddle. Anyway when I changed the bed yesterday, and put the electric blanket back on it was working, and then when I got ready to go to bed it was off, and would not come back on. Mike's control was working and so was his side of the blanket, but both my control and my side of the blanket was dead! We unplugged the blanket and controls just to be safe. We should be ok at least for the next week cos it's supposed to be in the 40's during the day, and above freezing at night.

Convection Oven:
I bought a convection toaster oven the other day, and boy do I like it. So far every thing that I have cooked in it has come out great. If I continue to be impressed with it, since it is small and compact I think I will take it with me in the fiver whenever we go somewhere. I bought the ready made cookies that are in the dairy case, so Kara and I will try making them in it later. It's faster and it browns everything nicely. I paid about $46.00 for it so I didn't think that was too bad, and it bakes, broils and toasts. I got it when we went to Lowe's for plumbing supplies, I don't know how it got in the plumbing supplies! Haha! I have used my Mom's oven on convection, but I have never had one of my own to play with. This one is plenty big enough for us and it will bake a 12 inch pizza and you can still close the door, so I really like it.
Well I think that is about it for today, so I'll be seeing ya, somewhere, sometime, somehow so until then...

TOO MUCH RUNNING AROUND!!!

Running Around:
The last couple of days have been nothing but running errands! Gosh, it seems like that's all we have done since we got back from southern Ohio. We had to go get prescriptions, groceries, and more plumbing supplies. Now ya know that we couldn't do all that at once, we had to spread it out, and it seems like I haven't got much else done the last 3 days. I finally called a stop to it and said we could do the rest some time next week. Kara (our oldest Granddaughter) is spending the weekend with us so she will be over tomorrow afternoon. So I have to get some things done so I can spend time doing stuff with her. I want to get our bed changed, and some more things put away, since the bathroom is done. All we need for the bathroom is a wall for privacy! LOL! Mike is planning on getting that taken care of this weekend, after I said I was going to hang a sheet up haha! The bathroom is open to the living room, so you are out in front of everybody when you use it. Nothing like playing show and tell LOL! Maybe one of these days we'll be done living out of boxes! Seriously things are coming along well, but I think I'm working Mike too hard. He has to take 2 days off, because of his back for everyday that he works, to recoup and give his back a rest! He sure doesn't want to have anymore back surgery. We have the plumbing now to do the kitchen sink, so that's on the agenda after the bathroom wall. The weather is supposed to be in the 40's for the next week, so that's a plus. I don't know what the low is going to be, but at this rate 40's sounds WARM to us! I'll feel better once we have a kitchen sink, so I can actually do dishes anytime I want! After that is a stove, and then things will move alot faster. I'm hoping that Mike can run the gas lines at the same time as that he runs the plumbing for the kitchen sink, but we'll see. I'm not a very good judge of the difficulty of doing two things like that at once sometimes. Sometimes I expect too much and get too impatient waiting for things to get done that I can't do.

Doggies and Birdies:
The dogs, Hannah, Dutchess and Clover have all gotten baths and their monthly flea spot medication. So that is taken care of for another month. Now I have to get the bird cages cleaned, and then I can start all over! LOL! Jake my Amazon parrot, has now learned how to call Clover, so now he calls all 3 dogs. They don't pay a bit of attention to him though. He has just heard us call them back in from outside so much, that he does it too now. Well I have to get something done today, so the day isn't a total loss so I'd better go put a load of wash in. I'll see ya all Over the Rainbow, somewhere...

BACK TO NORMAL, I THINK!

Good to be Home:
First of all I'm going to post the pictures of the ice and snow that we got while we were at our parents houses, so you can see how pretty it was. I think the pictures are pretty self explanatory the poor pine trees are looking a little swamped with the weight of the snow and ice. The ice was pretty thick and the icicles got pretty long. For those of you basking in the warmth of the south, just think freezing! LOL!!!!

Things are going better with us since we got home. My allergies from Miss Kitty have subsided , and I can see again since the swelling and watering has stopped in my eyes. Washing my hair several times helped the most I think. We have to go to the base so Mike can get his xrays, so I'll do another post later this afternoon, so until then...
