About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

BIRTHDAY PREPERATIONS UNDERWAY

Mom's Birthday:
Today I worked on my Mom's Birthday Party things. I had to make macaroni salad, and baked beans. We're having a carry in party, so everyone will bring a covered dish to share. My brother's, and I will provide the hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, the cake , and ice cream. We're expecting about 25 people here between 5:00 & 6:00 p.m. , and that's just mostly immediate family! I ordered a half a sheet cake, that has to be picked up by 2:00p.m. I hope we can surprise her again this time, like we did on her 65th birthday! Wish us luck, cos we're gonna need it! I think we have everything ready except the streamers and the balloons, and we won't decorate until tomorrow afternoon. The problem will be keeping her from dropping in to visit! LOL!

Fiver:
Something is wrong with our fiver! The microwave won't work, and we think we may have had a power surge when it was storming. I sure hope that it didn't get fried! We're kinda thinking that maybe our converter might have, from the storm, because our battery doesn't want to stay charged. So we may be making a trip to the dealer to see what the problem is. Our warranty is good for a year, but I hope it isn't anything serious! Tomorrow we're going to call to see if we can take it in on Monday. Since we're now going to be living in it full time we'll need to get it back right away. I sure hope that the dealer will be willing to work with our schedule on this. We're hoping to go to the upper peninsula in Michigan this month. Talk to ya's soon!

SLOW END TO JULY

Slow & Lazy:
We have been doing a lot of relaxing this week, and just trying to make lists for my Mom's surprise 70th Birthday party on Saturday. On Monday we did take time out, and go to the outdoor drama about Tecumseh, in Chillicothe, Ohio. We had a good time, and it is a "must see" if any of you ever get to go to Chillicothe, Ohio in the summer. It is a factual telling of the story of Tecumseh, the Shawnee Indian brave, and is full of very good actors. The Indian costumes are great, and boy are those loin cloths something! Needless to say the male actors are in very good shape! Actually, all you could see was a little bit of their "cheeks", but they were nice ! LOL! The female actress's are in period costumes also. It was the 2nd time for me to see it, and it was still riveting for me. The horses and the scenery are beautiful too! Mike and Kara enjoyed it, too, and Kara wants to go back again! Well I think that is it for tonite, because I want to get into the chat room at RV Dreams, so I can spend some time with my friends on there, so all of ya take care, and travel safe!
