About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

BIRTHDAY PREPERATIONS UNDERWAY

Mom's Birthday:
Today I worked on my Mom's Birthday Party things. I had to make macaroni salad, and baked beans. We're having a carry in party, so everyone will bring a covered dish to share. My brother's, and I will provide the hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, the cake , and ice cream. We're expecting about 25 people here between 5:00 & 6:00 p.m. , and that's just mostly immediate family! I ordered a half a sheet cake, that has to be picked up by 2:00p.m. I hope we can surprise her again this time, like we did on her 65th birthday! Wish us luck, cos we're gonna need it! I think we have everything ready except the streamers and the balloons, and we won't decorate until tomorrow afternoon. The problem will be keeping her from dropping in to visit! LOL!

Fiver:
Something is wrong with our fiver! The microwave won't work, and we think we may have had a power surge when it was storming. I sure hope that it didn't get fried! We're kinda thinking that maybe our converter might have, from the storm, because our battery doesn't want to stay charged. So we may be making a trip to the dealer to see what the problem is. Our warranty is good for a year, but I hope it isn't anything serious! Tomorrow we're going to call to see if we can take it in on Monday. Since we're now going to be living in it full time we'll need to get it back right away. I sure hope that the dealer will be willing to work with our schedule on this. We're hoping to go to the upper peninsula in Michigan this month. Talk to ya's soon!

Hi Sassy, hope your surprise party turns out well.

I was just looking at freecampgrounds.com. They list free campgrounds or boondocking places which are either free or up to $10/night and came across this one in Middletown, OH. It would be closer for Gordon's sister whose address is Middletown and his son who is in Dayton. Here's the url - http://www.freecampgrounds.com/detail.aspx?id=1409

If you happen to be in the area or feel like exploring would you have a look at it. I'm wondering about the size of the sites and if there's a clear view of the southern sky for satellite, also if it's clean and decent.

Let me know if you have a chance to look at it. I'd ask my sister-in-law but she has no clue about RVing!
