21st of March, Friday:
Well, today was my Birthday! I spent a nice, peaceful, and quiet day doing what I wanted; which at times was nothing! We went to Red Lobster last week to celebrate my birthday, and I got the lobster, that I had been craving! My youngest Brother called to remind me just how "old" I was! Haha! He is so funny!
Today:
Today I talked to both my brothers,, and was again wished "Happy Birthday". My youngest brother called to tell me that my next birthday was coming up in just 364 days in case I forgot since I am so old! Boy is he going to get it, next time I see him! Both of my brothers are excited to see our new 5th wheel! The are both avid RVer's, one has a huge motor home with 3 slides, and the other one has a travel trailer, so it runs in the family!
Countdown:
Well, yesterday was day 4 and today is day 3! So only 3 days until we pick up the 5er! Man, this is getting so exciting and the anticipation is getting overwhelming!
It seems like everything is thought of in the relativity of picking up the 5er. I made sure I got rawhide bones for the dogs on Tuesday, because they don't like being put in the pantry, and they don't mind so much when they get a treat!
Pressure:
Now I find there is more pressure to get the rest of the things done. My sewing room is still not all packed up, and now I'm told that I need to take all my nick knacks, and things down in the kitchen so they can paint it. They want to get rid of my country blue. So that is more stuff to pack up. All my sponge ware collection, my country decorations, my country canister collection, and all my old cooking utensils that I have on the walls. I thought I was able to leave all that stuff where it was, now I find out they,(my son and future daughter in law) want it taken down so they can put up their own decorations. I fully understand this, and know I would want to do the same!
Easter:
Tomorrow is Easter and I haven't got anything ready. So that means I'll have to get the 6 Grandkids' baskets ready tonight, and make my Great Aunt Katie's sweet potato casserole, or I'll have a revolt on my hands tomorrow!

FIRST DAY OF SPRING
First Day of Spring:
Today here in Ohio the first day of spring was very pretty, with temps of 50 degrees. It was too windy to be really nice, but it does look promising now. My flowers are up out of the ground about an inch. It's supposed to start raining tomorrow afternoon, and even mix with snow tomorrow evening. It doesn't look too promising for a nice Easter this year.
Easter Baskets:
I was able to stop and get the things for the Grandkids Easter Baskets today. Usually, I get them things like, brushes for their hair and hair barrette's,,clothes, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, lip gloss, perfume fruit spray, bubbles, and a little bit of candy. This year I cheated, and I was lazy , and I just got them candy! Probably TOO much CANDY!!! Boy, will my Son's be mad at me! It's okay though, they HAVE to take them home with them!!! Haha!
Dr Appointments:
I got my medications refilled today so I'm good for the next 3 months. Mike saw his neurosurgeon this afternoon, and he is very pleased with his progress, and thinks he is a little ahead of schedule as far as healing from his surgery. He has to wear his brace for 2 more months. His Doctor said his xrays look really good, and they will do a MRI when it has been 6 months to make sure bone is growing through the baskets he inserted.
Countdown:
Today is day 5 of our countdown. We got the license plates for our 5th wheel today! Time is going fast now and soon we'll be driving to Hamilton, near Cincinnati, Ohio. Just the rest of today, Friday, the weekend, and Monday to get through now before we go to pick up the 5er.

SIGNS OF SPRING!
A Sign:
Mike swears he saw a robin pulling out a worm popsicle and eating it! LOL! I still didn't see it, so we'll have to take his word. I have day lilies, tulips, and daffodils peaking up out of the ground! However, it appears that March is determined to go out like a lion. I'm going to hope that it will be only a fleeting time of winter again, and April will start out nice sunny, and warm!
Countdown:
Today is day 6 of the countdown. We plan on taking a few dishes, and some groceries, and bedding with us when we go to pick up the 5er. So at least if we have to spend the night somewhere, we'll be able to. We want to get some memory foam for the mattress on the bed. Mike has to have something soft under his back to sleep. We will be going from a king size bed to a queen size so that calls for new sheets, blankets, and pillows. It will take up less room in the truck if we just leave everything in the packages, until we get the 5er moved. We will be taking other accessories, like hoses, chocks, etc... with us too. We also have to get license plates for the 5er tomorrow.
Easter:
Easter is this weekend and I have yet to buy the first piece of candy or goodies for my Granddaughters Easter Baskets! That is something else I will have to add to my to do list for tomorrow. Otherwise I'll have some very disappointed Granddaughters here on Sunday.

A WEEK FROM TODAY!!!
Countdown Starts: 7 Days
Well, it's just a week from today that we pick up our new 5er! You'll probably get tired of hearing me talk about it by then! I can't help it, I'm just so excited! So forgive me if I bore you to tears. This is the most exciting thing we can imagine! The weather for that day is calling for rain. One of our rules is to not drive in the rain, so what are we going to do? We do have a couple of ideas. There are a couple of state parks not too far away and some private campgrounds too. So maybe we'll use one of them. Actually, we just can't wait to try it out! LOL! Seriously, we would rather drive home on dry pavement, than wet if the next couple of days aren't going to be too bad. So a stay overnight, or for a couple of days wouldn't be too bad, or out of the question for us. What would all of you do? We hope to get some feedback from some of you, to hear what you would do in this situation.
Dutchess Was Not Happy:
When we got home on Sunday from Circleville, my dog, Dutchess was not happy with me for going off and leaving her! She gave me the cold shoulder for the rest of the day and evening! By the next morning she had forgiven me and was happy I was home! I guess by then she felt she had put me in my place! So all was forgiven!
Yesterday:
Yesterday I spent cleaning up the mess that my Son left in my kitchen, soon he'll have to do that himself! I watered all my plants, and picked up, and straitened up all the rooms, and unpacked. I soon had things back the way they belonged. Meanwhile, Mike went and got the 2 front tires put on the truck, so now the truck has all new tires on it! He got some things we were out of, and came home, not bad for someone who just had back fusion surgery on the 20th of February! It was nice just to have the house to myself for a couple of hours. I always get more done when I'm by myself, for short periods of time!
Today:
Today is sort of gloomy here in Ohio. It rained during the night, and the wind is blowing a bit now. Probably blowing in more rain, as it's supposed to rain the next couple of days. I talked to my Mom this morning, and it was raining hard in Circleville, Ohio. It's hard to believe that my Mom will be 7o in August! She sure doesn't act or look it!

SIGN OF SPRING- CIRCLEVILLE
Circleville:
I had to go to Circleville, Ohio to see my first sign of spring! I actually saw my first robin while we were visiting my Mom and Pop! I think that Pickaway county is about 2 weeks ahead of us here in Clark county. So maybe in about 2 weeks I'll be able to see some robins here around Springfield, Ohio! We drove down to Circleville in pouring rain on Friday. It wasn't a bad trip it was just rain, and the creeks, streams, and rivers were out of their banks all the way down. We've had so much rain, and then the snow melt has also contributed to the flooding too.
Chillicothe, Ohio:
On Saturday we drove down to Chillicothe to see Mike's Mom and step Dad. They are in their 80's and 90's. Their house I think was 105 degrees inside! We just about roasted! Mike's Mom is in the first stages of alzheimer's, and his step Dad is very frail and uses a motorized chair, like the ones advertised on tv. They get along pretty well, but usually Mike's brother, or one of his sisters is with them. We haven't been able to take our turn for quite a while, so I'm hoping we'll be able to give them a brake in a week or two. With the four of them, they usually take turns caring for them. We were only able to stay for the day, but that allowed Mike's brother to go home early. Next time we go I will take meals down for the weekend.
Happy St Paddy's Day:
To all of you, have a happy st paddy's day tomorrow! I am always happy to see st. paddy's day get here, because I know spring is coming when it gets here! So far we don't have any buds on our forsythia, and we always have a snow after it blooms.
Can you believe that Easter is 2 weeks earlier this year than last. I'm not ready and I haven't even went shopping for the Grandkids Easter baskets. That's one thing I have to do this week. Mike will go get the 2 front tires on the truck tomorrow, and get them balanced and aligned too. It's hard for me to believe that just a week from this Tuesday we will be going to get our 5er! Wow!! That's gonna be a big highlight in our lives!
