60'S CONCERT!!!! WOO HOO!

60'S Concert:
Tonite I am going to a 60's concert here in Columbus, Ohio, which was one of our main reasons for coming to Alum Creek. I am telling my age here, but I have followed Herman's Hermits staring Peter Noone, since the 60's! I was lucky enough to go to the Ohio State Fair not once, but twice to see them, the first time being in 1967! I still have the button that I bought at that concert, and Peter Noone signed it for me a couple of years ago. I am also one of the Ohio Reps for the Peter Noone Fan Club, so I go see him every chance I get! So I am one of a bunch of Fans that are called Noonatics after Peter's last name. That's Noonatics, not Lunatics, although sometimes it's hard to tell the difference! We are crazy and out to have lots of FUN, and when we go to concerts, we get to act like a bunch 16 year olds again! LOL! It's fun even if only for an evening! Peter Noone is one of the most charming, gracious, and captivating performers I have ever had the pleasure to meet! When he gets up on that stage he is the teen heart throb, we saw in the 60's! They call what I have Noonatic fever! LOL! Well anyway enough, I just wanted ya all to know why I wouldn't be in the RV Dreams Chat Room tonite! Mike always loves it when I come back from a concert, cos I don't have a voice left from screaming, and singing, and I can't talk above a whisper! Haha! Oh well. it's FUN, and isn't that what our life is all about now? I suppose you could say I'm going through my teens again! LOL!

Success:
Mike was able to get the satilite TV working yesterday! Good Job, Mike! The only thing we have left to check is the air conditioner in the 5er. Since it rained last night and this morning, of course it's now too cool to do that! LOL! So maybe in a few days. We'll have to see!

ALUM CREEK STATE CAMPGROUND-OHIO

ALUM CREEK STATE PARK:
We arrived at Alum Creek Park at around 2p.m. It is a nice state park with about 290 sites with a max 35' RV length limit. So we just made it at 34'5". A lot of the sites are wooded and some have blooming red bud trees, right now anyway, and some others that I don't know the name of. It is a very serene and peaceful place right now, no kids at the playground. LOL! Just kidding the playground is a couple roads away. there is one drawback here though, no water hook ups at the sites, which was something we kinda took for granted. Our big surprise for the trip! I guess we were used to staying at a private campground,so we have no water on board! That's one thing were going to have to check out before we leave home! We could have filled our tank with water before we left. So another thing to check and add to our growing lists of before trip things! At least we're right next to the shower house and restroom!

State Park Camping -101:
An adventure in futility is what I'm calling it! Well it's funny now anyway! We got a list of sites available and took off to find our camping spot. I say camping, lightly because in no way are we roughing it with this huge fiver, except for the water. LOL! We get backed in, and unhooked and set up. When I say set up, I'm talking slides out, leveled out, chocks under the tires, and awning out! Then Mike gets into the truck to go to the office to register, he looks down at the sites and comes back and tells me we set up on a reserved site! Haha! Now I wasn't real happy about undoing everything and hooking the fiver back up, but we did.

We found another spot, and once again got everything set up. Mike went to the office to register, while I stayed at the 5er, and opened windows. Pretty soon, Mike came back, and said you're not going to like this! We have to move again! He was right, I didn't like it one bit! The girl at the office didn't circle the ones that were reserved for the weekend! If we stayed in that spot, we would have had to move this morning, and Mike didn't want to do that. So again we took everything down and pulled the awning and slides in, and I got in the truck. This time the girl in the office circled the sites that were available!

We found our present site, and Miked backed in, and we moved the picnic table so we could get the slide out. We unhooked from the truck, and Mike started to get things out of the back of the truck. I said STOP!! Lesson learned the hard way! LOL! We're not doing anything until we're registered this time! So we drove back to the office, and there was no problem with this site! Finally we get back to the site, and get things set up. The slides out, the 5er leveled, and the awning out. If we would have had to manually do the awning each time we moved, I think I would have screamed! The automatic awnings are wonderful! You just push a button, and out they go! The only reason we have one of those, is that our fiver came with alot of extras. It was made as a promotional model, otherwise we would not have one! So if it breaks it will probably cost us a bundle to fix!

Needless to say, we certainly got our exercise yesterday! Then after all that it was about 5p.m. We had a sandwich and called it quits! Then I couldn't get connected to the internet so I spent the evening playing Mah Jong which is installed on the computer. Mike couldn't get the satalite TV set up either, so he spent the evening watching shows he'd taped on the DVR. So to all my friends in the RV Dreams chat room, I missed ya! Betcha can't guess where I'll be tonite! Haha!

Mike is still trying to get the TV to work, so I guess we'll have to get one of the meters that shows him where to aim the satilite dish. Was fun doing the dishes today, having to carry water from the rest room, but at least I can get hot and cold!

We're going to just have a relaxing day for the rest of the day!
Only we could have an adventure like this! I'll bet the other campers had tons of laughs thanks to us yesterday! Wasn't it good of us to provide so much entertainment in the park?! LOL!!!

BUSY DAY

Today:
Today I have been cleaning out kitchen cabinets, and trying to figure out what to pack and put in the garage. Most of my blue sponge ware dishes are going to be packed away, until we get our apartment in the garage done. We have a 2 car garage with our bedroom on the back. Our bedroom measures 14' x 22', so we could use some of that if we need to. I don't think we will need to though, because all we need in the apartment is a kitchen, bathroom, and living room. We already have water in the garage, because there used to be a beauty shop in there before we bought the house. We will only use the garage apartment when we are home, so it won't need to be too fancy. We will even have our own entrance. I have alot of things to pack and curtains to be taken down, because my son, and his fiance want to put up their own.

May:
May will be a busy month for us. We are going to have a garage sale and hopefully sell lots of stuff. There are a few things I want to get for the 5er, but I can't justify spending the money, unless I make it selling stuff at the garage sale! So I will have to get everything ready for that, and also I have to finish packing up most of the living room and the other bedroom. So it's unlikely we will be taking any trips in the 5er in May.

Thursday:
Tomorrow, we will be going to Alum Creek State Campground in Columbus, Ohio. It will be our first experience in a state park with the fiver. They are supposed to have wifi in the park, so we'll have our first experience with that too. We will probably come away ready to get a phone card set up or something for internet use. So we'll have 2 firsts this week. Other than that not too much has happened in the last 2 days. The weather has been really nice, but I won't own up to saying that, cos it might get cold again!!! Haha ! Have a great Wednesday Everybody!

ONE ON ONE WITH KARA

The Weekend:
Kara, our 8yr old Granddaughter, spent the weekend with us . That was the first time since January, I got to have her for the whole weekend by herself. Usually all of the Grandkids are here and we get no one on one time. So it was nice just to talk, do crafts, and just be together. We slept out in the 5er both nights, and Kara loved it! We got to do a lot of cuddling too! All the Grandkids are ready to go camping with us! We just have to wait until school is out. Poor Grandpa haha!

Monday:
Today we had lunch at Mike's brother David's house. Mike's Mom is up in Springfield visiting for a few days with them. They talked her into coming for a few days, so we surprised her. It was an enjoyable time, and I hope she stays for a few days. It's much closer to visit that way, and they have a room already fixed up for her. She can't go home until they take her. They want her to stay, but after 2 days she already wants to go home. So we'll have to wait and see.

Autumn and Tehya:
This afternoon we watched Autumn and Tehya, while their Mommy and Daddy had the closing on their FIRST HOUSE! Then when they were done we went over to the house to see it. They are so excited, and the girls will each have their own room, so that will save lots of fights, and a play room too. They are really happy and kept saying Thanks, Mom and Dad, I love my new room! The girls are really excited about having their own room now!

Wednesday or Thursday Travel Day:
We're going to Alum Creek State Park in Columbus, Ohio, on one of these days, we're not sure exactly which day we'll travel, but it depends when I get all the stuff loaded, and things done. We're going to see Olentangy Indian Caverns, the zoo, and visit some friends too. Then on Saturday night I'm going to a 60's concert. Sounds like lots of FUN to me! We may stay a week, just depends how things go. We found out the park has Wifi, so we'll have our first experience using it.
