About US

This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

HO HUM DAY

Saturday:
Today was quiet, and very nice. We did some reading, and messed around on the computer, and then went out to a Chinese place for dinner. It was a buffet, and boy did they have lot's of stuff to eat. I had a bit of General Tso's chicken and some stir fried broccoli . Then I had 3 crab legs, and they were very good. This was the first time I had seen cheesecake at a buffet, so I had a piece of that for desert, and called it quits. These kind of places have way to much to choose from, and you never get your money's worth, but we saw a few people in there who got their money's worth and some other peoples too! I think they ended up eating the place's profits too! LOL! Oh well, I didn't mind them using my money's worth, cos I couldn't eat it all anyway!

Moving:
Monday we will be moving to Alum Creek State Park again. We really like that park, and we may stay a few days. After that we're going home so I can see my dog, Dutchess, and stay home for a couple of weeks, then we'll be going back down to Circleville to house sit for my brother. When we go back down we will add Dutchess to the mix, and see how she does being in the fiver. We'll start out introducing her to the fiver when we get home, since we'll be living in it. We have lots to do when we get home for the next two weeks. Refilling prescriptions, and getting new ones. I also have to make a couple of Dr appointments too. I want to get my sewing stuff organized in the bedroom at home too, and we have lots of wash to do. Sounds like we'll be busy, but I'll try to keep ya all informed of whats going on, so until tomorrow friends and family....

GUESS WHAT ?????

Hi Everyone:
We have been busy finding out about warranties the last few days. So if you have a new motor home, fiver, or whatever please listen up! We have found out that power surges are not covered under them for a start. Our insurance will cover all of our damage, BUT we have that wonderful $ 500.00 deductable! I think we're going to be eating a lot of macaroni and cheese and hot dogs for the next month! We will have to invest in one of the power surge protectors for the fiver, also, and they aren't cheap! They cost about $300.00 ! YIKES we are already into, I know you guys can add, but $ 800.00 ! It's a good thing that we'll be here at my brother's house in Circleville for most of the month of August, with no rent or we'd be up the proverbial creek without the paddle! They are going to a motorcycle rally at the end of the month, so we'll be house sitting for them. We have a great spot behind the house, with water, electric, and internet sometimes in the trailer, or we can get it in their garage if we take the laptop over there when we can't get it in the trailer. Plus this way I get to see my Mom about every other day. Well I know that this is short, and not too sweet, but I want to get this posted. To all my friends in chat, I'll try to be there tonite to see ya, so until then.....

PAR TAY !!

Surprise Party:
Wow the surprise was on Mom, again! We got her good! She told both my brother's and me, that she didn't realize that she had raised 3 kids who were so good at " lying " to her! Well, we did tell some outright fibs! LOL! You see the youngest of my brother's had told Mom that he was taking her to Red Lobster for Shrimp! Oops, that was the second time he told her that, and so she arrived ready to go to Red Lobster, all set to eat her favorite shrimp dinner! She said she'd thought of nothing else all day except how good that shrimp was going to taste! Now she told Alan, that from now on that they'll just meet him at Red Lobster! Me I told Mom, that we were going to go to Mike's Mom's for dinner with his brother, his wife, and Mom! Oops again! I have to admit Mom was a pretty good sport about the whole thing! She even went first on the pinata, with her great grandkids! Believe me she is a very "young" 70 ! In fact, most people who don't know, think she is my sister! I will try to post a pic as soon as my sister-in-law sends them to me. My Mom looked "Outstanding" last night, and she sure dressed up pretty to "go" to Red Lobster for her birthday dinner, was kinda a shame to trick her, but I had it on good authority, that my Poppy is taking her out to Red Lobster tomorrow for her real birthday. So she'll get her shrimp tomorrow for sure!

Kara:
Kara went home with our middle son, Corey last night. She was getting really home sick for her Daddy, and Grammy was getting really tired, so it worked out good. Her Dad, our oldest son, Jamie picked her up after they got home, and he got off work.

Dutchess:
I'm really starting to miss my dog Dutchess. We've been away from home now for 3 weeks, and that's the longest, that I've ever left her. I bet she's gonna be really mad at me when I finally get back to the house! We have to call the dealership, where we got our fiver, and see if we can get an appointment, because my other brother, Tim, checked out the fiver, and said that we must have had a "power surge", or something, because our converter is fried, and so is the microwave, and our Dirt Devil, in trailer vacuum cleaner. All of them are fried big time! Man, we so upset, about it, but at least the fiver is new, and still under warranty, and our insurance will take care of everything if they're not covered under the warranty! Whew, we're talking "big money" items! The converter, and the microwave are both about $400.00 each and the Dirt Devil is about $600.00 alone! Yikes!!! Well tomorrow is another day, so check in and see what we're up to. Until then...
