RUNNING AROUND

On The Run:
The last 2 days we have spent running around, trying to get things done before we go to see Mike's Mom. We hit the used book store, and got books to read, and we're taking the laptops too. Today we bought a Hawking Technologies wifi booster antenna that is supposed to give you a stronger signal when you are on wifi. Let's hope it works, because we don't have a real strong signal down at Mike's Moms. The things ya get used to, and think ya have to have, but what would we do without internet? I couldn't keep in touch with ya all unless I went to an internet cafe. That would probably drive me absolutely crazy ! Yesterday we got a few groceries, and things to take with us, because we will be staying down at my brother's until after the first week of August. We haven't replaced our Garmin GPS system yet, and we probably won't until the end of the month when we get Mike's Air Force retirement check. Man only getting paid once a month is hard! We're going to try to do something fun while we're down in Chillicothe, even if it's just go to the city park, or maybe mound city, it's a bunch of serpent mounds used by the Indians that were in the area of Chillicothe, back in the days. This time while we're home, I'm going to get my nephew to teach me how to post my pictures, and I promise not to forget my camera this time!!!! So between shopping, doing laundry, and cooking that has been the extent of my last 2 days. We'll be on the road tomorrow after my doctor's appointment, so I'll post tomorrow evening, I hope!

PA TRIP DELAYED

Delay:
We have decided to delay our trip to Hershey, until maybe next month or September. We were able to get the window in the truck, passenger side fixed this afternoon. The guy put the new window in and was on his way in about an hour. It cost us $150.00 which I didn't think was too bad, except that we weren't planning to spend that much on a new window. We have talked it over, and our tickets for Hershey are good until October, so we will put it off for a month or so. The hundred and fifty dollars didn't, or wouldn't have mattered, we still could have went. We just weren't sure we would be able to be back in time for my Mom's surprise 70th birthday party, on August 2nd. Also, we don't like traveling without our GPS unit. The cost of a GPS unit would put a damper on our trip though! To get one just like we had, will cost about$300 to $350. I guess we've gotten spoiled with it! Anyway we want to replace it before we go on a trip, where we don't know the countryside! Our sons got the GPS system for us this past Christmas, and it could possibly have been the first time they all worked together, and agreed on anything in their life! Haha!! I'm mostly kidding, but that did make it special to us.

Our Bedroom:
We got alot done on our bedroom Saturday! We went through lots of clothes, and threw out a bunch of them! We had about 3 big trash bags full to take to the thrift shop! We also threw out a couple bags of old magazines, and papers, except the ones that needed to be shredded. We put them aside to shred all at once. I couldn't believe how much all of our stack magazines had multiplied! More paper, and clutter. Some of the magazines I took our labels off so I could take them to the base hospital for other people to enjoy. We're now ready to set up my sewing table, and get my sewing machines, and serger set back up, and ready to use again.

Circleville:
We're still going back down to my brother's house on Thursday after my doctor's appointment. We have to go back down to Mikes Mom's house on Friday. Then we'll just hang around until August 2nd. My Mom and I have some shopping planned for after we get back to Circleville from Chillicothe. It will be fun to just get away for a day all by ourselves, we haven't done anything like that for years, and I'm looking forward to it! Mike will enjoy some quiet and restful time after feeling like he's been in a sweat shop down at his Mom's! That's all for tonite, and I plan to spend some time in the RV Dreams chat room this evening.

VANDALS STRIKE !!!!

Vandals :
Well our calm has been shattered! We had vandals strike here at our home! Sometime during the night, while it was storming here, and after I got kicked off the RV Dreams chat room, by the storm, our passenger side window was broken in the truck, and our Garmin GPS unit was stolen! We didn't find out until I went to the fiver to get clean clothes at 11 a. m. this morning. Then when I came out of the fiver I saw the glass on the ground. We immediately called the police! When the officer got here, she told us that this was the 3rd GPS system this week! I know it shouldn't have been in the truck, but in all the time we have lived here we've never had anything stolen, or messed with. That's been 30 years here! I guess there's always a first time, huh? So now starts the dealing with the insurance people. I wonder how long that will take, and what is this going to cost us, for our stupidity. I have a feeling this is going to be an expensive lesson learned! So please don't make our mistake, take your GPS unit out of your car/truck/motor home ! The GPS unit is a HOT item right now for thieves! The cop also suggested engraving your initials on things like this. Notice she said initials, not your social security number. Gee, I am really tired of hearing, and now experiencing, when some people want something you have, they just take it like they're entitled to it whether it belongs to someone else or not! She said that the GPS units are easy to sell or fence. She also suggested having a security system installed, but I don't know if we'll go that route or not just yet. I'm also worried about leaving the fiver sit in the driveway with no way of protecting it too. Of course when we get back from PA we'll probably be living in it, since we'll be working on the apartment.
I hope all of your week ends ended on a happier note than ours did!
