About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

BACK AT THE FIVER... WHEW!!!

Time Finally Marched On:
We are finally back at the fiver! What an experience! Alzhimer's disease is such a heartbreaking thing. You take someone who was self sufficient, and able to take care of everything they had. Then you take all short term memory away from them, and the ability to even remember what day, month, year, or who is even President of the country, and being told you can no longer drive your car. Then you add bewilderment, not knowing if you took your medication, or even able to remember how to take care of bodily functions right, then you have Alzhimers. Add to that, your thinking that you can do everything you used to do, and thinking that you can still live by yourself. Mike's Mom, says she just wants to live by herself, and her kids just won't let her. When Mike's Mom saw that her other son-in-law was there she burst into tears. I wonder how we would be able to handle all of that? With me I don't think it would be pretty! I felt so bad for her! I'm sure when her daughter got there, after work, she was still majorly upset! Staying there was very hard for us, seeing her struggle with everything. It's hard to explain to her we just want her to be safe, and that we love her.

Poem That I Promised:
I wrote this poem for my Mom on Mother's Day 2005. One of her friends took it and typed it and matted it and framed it for her. It looks really nice, so I hope you can stand reading the heartfelt words that I wrote to my Mom. This is my own original work and has never been published before.

A Mother's Love

A Mother's love is never ending.
Always and forever rekindling!

Guiding us through the years.
Often smiling through her tears!

A Mother's love is special and caring.
Always concerned with whether or not we're sharing!

Cooking food to keep us strong.
Trying to teach us right from wrong!

Mom, I love you more than words can convey.
Even though I didn't always obey!

There was fun, joy, hope, and laughter.
Also crying, and words spoken that I wish I could take back forever after!

You loved me through the teen years with all the drama, and the strife.
You are the woman, my Mother, who gave me life!

As the sun shines down upon you from above.
You'll always have my respect, and my love!

A day that comes in the month of May.
We should treat our Mothers as if everyday we're Mother's Day!

Only when I became a mother, did I understand the depth of your love for me.
The blinders fell off, so I too could see!

A mother;s love is always there.
To it there's nothing that can compare!

I Love You Mom!

From your daughter,
Love always,
Kristie

On this note, I'm going to stop, because I can't add anything any better!

Sherri took care of my Dad until the end. She was an angel sent down to help him into the night. I know what Mike is going through and in the end it is Bitter Sweet.
