About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

Playing Catch Up

Wednesday:
Wednesday I managed to walk up to the corner to visit my friend, Sue. I only used one crutch, and I made it up and back by myself. I consider that an accomplishment! The foot hurt a little last night but not so much that I had to use ice. The rest of the beautiful day I just enjoyed the sunshine, and played on the laptop. I was bad and didn't do a post yesterday so as my title says, I am playing catch up!

Today:
Mike had a doctor appointment with the pain specialist so I tagged along. After that we went to Michael's so I could get more silk flowers for another keepsake bouquet. I got a few at Walmart too. They have pretty much done away with most of their silk flowers, but I did find a few that looked good and were a lot cheaper than Michael's or Hobby Lobby. I still have to hit Hobby Lobby for a few gray flowers, and then I will be done getting everything, so I can do the bouquet. I am going to do the bouquet in the fiver, so I don't have a mess all over the island in here. That way I don't have to put anything away until I am done. So after that we hit Sam's for a few things like dog food, bottled water, and some food. Our cupboards were getting to be a little bare. Have ya ever tried Sam's rotisserie chickens? They are really moist and tender, and we can get at least 2 -3 meals out of it. At $4.88 they are a real good deal. So I bet ya can guess what we're havin' for supper. Haha! In the stores I used a scooter, or a wheel chair, because I didn't want to put extra stress on my on my foot, and walked to and from the truck.

Fiver:
The slides are OUT! Yippee!  I haven't been back in the fiver since Tuesday, but Mike put the slides out yesterday. I checked everything out on Tuesday and there wasn't anything in the way of the slides. So when the battery was charged Mike went ahead and put the slides out, I hope I can get in there next week and clean and check out the systems, water, water heater, refrigerator  etc... Mike will need to  hook up the water to flush out the Rv antifreeze out of the water systems. Then I can try the hot water heater etc... so I can get everything clean and ready to go.  I'd like to try sleeping it the fiver with the dogs in a couple weeks to see how they do. It should be warm enough at night by then, I'm not sure how much propane we have left after last season. So that's another thing we will have to get filled, and ready. It will take us at least a couple of weeks to get everything ready to go, and I have yet to make a reservation. I wasn't sure how my foot would be doing so I was kinda waiting and trying to gauge when I would be able to walk better. I'm sure by this time next week my walking will have improved, but I will wait and see before I make a reservation.

Dark:
It is now 8:43 p.m. and it is not dark yet, but it will be before long. I am glad it is staying light longer now. The temp is starting to drop though, and it is starting to feel cool with the door open.  I think I will end this post here for tonight.  Take care and I will be back with ya's soon...
