About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

BACK TO WALLY WORLD AGAIN !

Again:
It was back to Wal Mart today to get a gallon of paint so I could paint the wall between the living room and that apartment Mike finished building and putting bead board on today. Luckily I was able to get the same color that I had on the rest of the walls. Gary wants to hang his flat screen tv on it, so I had to get it painted. The trouble with bead board is all the little grooves, and having to paint it with a brush so you can get paint into all of them. The second coat will go faster, and I can use a roller for that one if I am still sane after I get all the grooves painted that is. I only have 1 and 1/2 more sheets of bead board to go!

Tomorrow:
I will watch Autumn and Tehya tomorrow afternoon. Autumn has a teacher's in service day tomorrow, and is out of school for the day. It seems kind of stupid to be off on Thursday, and then go back on Friday for one day. You would think that they would go to school on Thursday, and then be off Friday for a 3 day weekend. I don't think the school system has much common sense! Oh well, I'd best not get on my soap box about that! Since I will be watching Autumn and Tehya in the afternoon, we will take the laptops in the house so that they can play games on them while I finish painting the wall. That is the only way I can see that I will be able to watch them and paint the wall at the same time. Wish me luck! They are pretty good, and love to play on Grammy and Papa's laptops, so it shouldn't be a problem. Shoot they can almost do anything I can do on the computer, and are much more used to using one than I was a few years ago! I have to have both coats of paint on the wall and they have to be dried by Friday night, so Gary can get his tv on the wall. It should work out fine.

Highlight:
Mike ordered the new converter today! We should have it in about a week. I can't wait to get the fiver back to normal. We have been having to use a battery charger every few days to charge the battery since the converter isn't working, a real pain in the you know where! It has been a slow 3 months since we had the power surge and ruined the Microwave, the converter, the Dirt Devil, and the direct tv box. Of course only getting paid once a month instead of every 2 weeks hasn't helped, and does take some getting used to. Our poor fiver will be almost back to normal. We have opted not to fix the Dirt Devil at this time, and have purchased a Hoover Nanolite until we have finished the apartment. It won't be long until we have to winterize the fiver and live in the apartment, so we have to use what money we have on it. Then we can use the Nanolite in the apartment after we get the Dirt Devil fixed. It will cost about $115.00 to fix the Dirt Devil if Mike does the work himself. It's a good thing he knows how to do things like that! He has saved us lots of money doing things himself! Then again with the Hoover Nanolite, it's so small and lite we may like it better than using the Dirt Devil with that heavy hose. It may just be easier to run than the Dirt Devil. We'll see and I'll report back on it a bit later. Well it's that time, so until I write again...
