About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

SCHOONER WORK

Schooner Work (Fiver) :
Today we straightened up the fiver. I did the dishes, while Mike stripped the bed, and washed the sheets for me. We got most of the things done, so we can relax this weekend. I am so glad to have most of the things that were out of place put back in their place. The Schooner looks so much better, and clutter makes the fiver shrink. I don't care how big, how many slides, or how long it is, clutter closes it in faster than putting the slides in. Anyway, we finished making the bed, and we put the non moving rubber shelf liner across the top, and the bottom of the platform. I hope by using that, it will stop the mattress from sliding down from the head of the bed. I'll keep ya posted on that, and let ya know if it works!

Thrift Shopping:
The other day we went to one of the thrift shops we usually go to around here, and bought a used VCR, that's right I said VCR! A lot of our movies are on VCR tapes, and it just doesn't make since to buy all of them on DVD's since we only watch them once in a while. They are very good movies that we enjoy watching though, and we were missing not seeing them since we didn't have a VCR. The VCR works, but who knows for how long. We only invested $14.00, so it's not too bad if it quits on us. Remember how expensive they were when they first came out? I think our first one cost us almost $400.00. Wow, you can buy a brand new one for $25 to $30.00 now, and we may end up doing that if this one quits on us! There isn't any remote, so we'll have to get up off our behinds to push play, unless we can program our reciever remote to turn it on and off. Oh well, it will be good exercise, right? Lol, just kidding!

Tomorrow:
We are going to take Autumn to Walmart to get a pair of crocs, and maybe an outfit for school. I also want to look at some things to see if she can give me an idea about what she wants for her birthday in September. So wish us luck until then...

VCR? We have one for sale, good price $10. The only thing you can't do is set the year, but it works great! Let me know if yours doesn't work anymore.
