About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

COLD AND GETTING COLDER

Cold:
Brrr! We got a couple of inches of snow last night, but the roads aren't bad. The wind is what is bad! It just blows right through you! This cold is really bad for my knees. I have a feeling my other knee (the good one) is going to need surgery before long! I hate to even think about that though, so I'll be like Scarlett O'Hara, in Gone With the Wind and I won't! LOL!! The knees sure do hurt though, when it's cold like this and it makes it hard to walk. I am still not using my crutches though, and I won't unless it gets really bad! I'm just going to keep trying to walk a little more each day. We'll see what happens! Wish me luck!

Kara:
Kara didn't get to spend Saturday night with us because the roads were really icy and Jamie didn't want to chance it, and I'm glad he didn't take the chance. She was a little disappointed though.

Today:
I got the dishes done, and dinner in the crock pot and not I am ready to clean off the top of the buffet, and then we can move it. Yippee! It's about time! I am looking forward to getting some things moved where I want them. My lighthouses are on the bathroom wall (wallpaper), and Mike is putting the plumbing in for the sink as I type this! Pretty soon we'll have a sink and a shower in our apartment! I hate to rush him, but how I long for a stove, and a kitchen sink! I'm still having to carry my dishes to the main kitchen to wash them, and dare I say it, fixing meals in the crockpot! The sink won't be a problem because he can run those lines after he gets the bathroom sink done. It's almost a straight line to the kitchen sink. The gas lines are going to be the problem. In order to run them, Mike has to go under the house into the crawl space again. Mike really hates going into the crawl space! I can't really say that I blame him, cos I know I wouldn't do it! LOL!! I really dislike cold, tight places, and I couldn't crawl around on my knees like he does when he is down there. Well, I guess I better get busy, cos it's not fair for Mike to do all the work! So I'll try to see ya's in the same cyberspace tomorrow...

It sounds like the apartment is coming along great! I hope you don't like it so much that you won't travel. I'm kidding. Stay warm and be careful with the knees.
