About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

MIKE'S MOMS

Mike's Mom's:
We spent Tuesday, Wednesday, and part of Thursday at Mike's Mom's house. I didn't have internet access any of the time we were there, and it almost drove me NUTS!!! I admit it, I'm addicted to the computer! Is there an organization called Computer's Anonymous ?? Then again, maybe I don't want to get help! LOL! Anyway, it just about drove me crazy! I won't be able to go without internet at all when we're on the road! Haha!
Mike's Mom is 83 years old, and in the first stages of alzhimer's disease. It is a very sad, and heartbreaking disease. Right now she still knows who the main members of the family are, but not the grandkids. She gets confused easily, so there are lots of questions to be answered, over and over. Combine that with the fact that she just lost her husband of 31 years, and is still grieving, and you have a heartbreaking, and stressful situation. We had not taken our turn to stay with her since Mike had his back surgery, so it was long over due! We were glad we could help out, and give the rest of Mike's siblings a break.

Deer:
Mike's Mom lives in the city, but she has deer come into to her yard every evening. They eat bird seed that has dropped on the ground, drink out of her bird bath, and sometimes eat the blooms off her flowers. On Wednesday evening we had 3 deer come into the back yard! That was the closest that I have ever been to a live deer. I eased the back door open, and was able to get a picture of some of the deer, which I hope to be able to post in the next few days. It was one of the highlights of being in Chillicothe, Ohio for me.

Home:
On Sunday we will start home with the 5er. My brother said we were welcome to leave the fiver in his drive until we come down again, but we'll take it home in case we want to visit one of the parks near us. There are quite a few of nice state parks within a short distance of us at home. Then again I'm sure there will be alot of things that need done at home, like dishes, and my dog, Duchess will be glad to see me. The birds will also be glad to see us, and I'm sure our son is getting tired of taking care of them! Happy Friday Everyone!
