About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

Critters We Saw:
I got the picture of the squirrel, on Wednesday, it was 102 degrees, at the lake, and he just seemed too lazy to move. I took a long walk and that's when I got the pictures of the seagulls and geese. The other pictures we took late afternoon, and evening. We spent some time exploring old haunts, that we used to go to. When I took my walk I discovered a little cove, it was nice and had it's own little sandy beach. It was a very relaxing and serene place that I spent some time just thinking. Not about anything major, just thoughts, and ideas. I sat with my feet in the water, and let my thoughts wander, it was a very calming and enjoyable experience.

Tilton Hilton:
We used to eat at the Tilton Hilton, once in a while, they have those giant hamburgers where ya could order one and share, it's huge. I'm sure they were low fat! Haha! The Tilton Hilton is a play on words, but the building does tilt, and so does the floor, ya feel drunk, even when you're not! LOL!! As you can see on the thermometer it really was 102^ on Wednesday. The Tilton Hilton has been a local icon at Indian Lake since the 1960's, and is still going strong! The cove with the boats is where we used to camp all those years when our kids were growing up, and is right across the street from the Tilton Hilton. The Indian Lake area has gotten so crowded the last few years, that on the week end you can hardly move. There must be about 12 private campgrounds plus the state park campground! All with boat docks, and lots of boats! I can't believe there hasn't been an accident with all the boats.

THURSDAY:
Thursday dawned very windy, and I took my tea out by the lake to drink it. I would like to go back some time this month and spend a week if possible, although whenever we were at the lake, I was never ready to leave to go home anyway. Indian Lake has always been kind of a special place for us. We drove around the lake and went by the spillway, and then to the marina to pick up our fishing poles, that they took out of our boat and kept for us when it sold. We also got a nice check from them from the sale of our trolling motor, that we weren't expecting that was a nice bonus for us! They even told us we could rent their personal pontoon boat the next time we were at the lake! After a dinner of grilled brats, sliced tomatoes, cottage cheese, and cantaloupe, we had a nice fire. During the night it stormed, and the fiver rocked so bad that it woke me up, and then I couldn't get back to sleep for a long time. I considered bringing in the slides in it was so windy. It rained most of the night and was still raining when we got up, kind of a light rain by then, almost like a continuous mist. So that meant we went through our ready to leave check list in the rain, and Mike was pretty wet by the time he got in the truck.

Tomorrow:
We have to go down to take our turn at Mike's Mom's. We are not going to take the fiver with us this time, so we'll be coming straight home on Wednesday afternoon. I only hope we will be able to get wifi down there this time or I shall go quite mad! So I hope I'll be writing on this blog tomorrow afternoon, until then...
