About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

SATURDAY

Saturday:
Today was hot, and muggy, with early evening thunder showers. The rain cooled off the heat! A cool front is going through our little valley this evening, and it is quite nice.
As promised, I looked up the meaning of of the Shawnee Indian word Chillicothe. It started out as the word "Chalahgawtha" which translated into English as Chillicothe. It was the name of one of the five divisions ( or bands) of the Shawnee Native American tribe, and also means principal town. Blackfish was the name of the war chief of the division. Chief Blackfish led raids into Boonsbourgh, Kentucky, from Chillicothe, and in 1778 he captured Daniel Boone. Daniel Boone was later adopted into the Shawnee tribe, and lived with the Shawnee for several months. Ok, now that is your Ohio history lesson about Chillicothe, the first capital of Ohio. LOL!

As you can see I haven't done anything exciting this weekend so I'm having trouble finding something to write about. I did find out some things that I didn't remember from my Ohio history class in the 8th grade though. Ha ha! I'll probably have more to write about after today, as the Grand Girls will be here tomorrow afternoon.
