About US

My photo
This the story of our journey, Into Something Good, going Somewhere Over the Rainbow, and trying to Hold Onto Our Dreams. How we got on the way to becoming HALF time RVers! Our Ford 350 super duty diesel truck is our horses, we call it the Beast . Our 2008 34'7" 3 slide Cedar Creek Silverback fifth wheel is our Prairie Schooner Wagon,we call it the Bear. Just like the first RVers, the Pioneers of Yesteryear traveling around the country searching for a rich full filling life! Come along with us for the ride and read about our triumphs and mishaps along the way! About to be Part time RVers in a Cedar Creek Silverback 2008, 34'7", 3 slide 5th wheel, which is our Prairie Schooner Wagon, and a 2006 Ford 350 super duty 1 ton diesel truck is our horses, or oxen, only we have to feed it diesel instead of grass, and oats, which costs a lot more! Retired Air Force empty nesters off to see the good ole USA! Favorite Quote: "Life is a Blank Canvas, Made For Me to Add the Colors" Goal: I am trying to add as many colors as I can to my life!

ALL IN A DAY'S WORK

Tuesday:
Today I decided to get a few things done that have been bothering me, and waiting to ge done. The bird cages were the first thing I got done, and that has needed doing for about 3 weeks. I'm sure that the birds are happier with their cages cleaned. The bad part is that we use cat litter in the bottom of the cages, because everything that drops immediately dries out. So any fruit, food, or droppings dry and that keeps them from drawing flies and that's good. There is one big but about using cat litter, which is cheaper than the ground corn cob they sell, and that is the dust! The dust is the worst thing for me, because of my asthma. It makes me cough and sneeze, and I try not to breath it or wear a paper mask if I have any.

Dishes:
I didn't do dishes the whole time that Kara was here, so I had 4 days worth! So they had to be done! It took me 45 minutes to get them done so there was a lot of them. When Kara is here I really don't like taking time away from her to do everyday things unless she is here for at least a week everything is focused on her. I feel like since her mother isn't around for her she needs the extra attention from me. We do just about everything together and I'm teaching her to cook, and she likes that. Unfortunately for her after the kitchen is finished she will be helping me do dishes too, right now it's just a little too messy using dish tubs. I feel like she needs to learn how to do everything that comes with taking care of a house. I like to think that we have time to teach her how to do things and still let her be a kid too. After all she is only nine. Oops I kind of got off track there a bit!

Mike:
Mike will finally be back tomorrow! I am looking forward to wrapping up the bathroom and starting on the kitchen! I will be glad to have him home for awhile now. At least for 3 or 4 weeks at least. Then we'll probably have to go back down for at least 3 days or so, me at my Mom's and him at his Mom's.

Break:
Now here I sit taking a break after doing all that. I have some plans tomorrow, like painting the bathroom for one thing. Like I said before, I want to get this apartment done so that once it warms up we can be off and running. I want to be able to travel this spring before it gets too hot, and I don't plan on staying only in Ohio! I'm hoping to get things wrapped up in the apartment for the most part. Stay tuned to see if we accomplish this, and end up somewhere... Over the Rainbow!
