SUNNY SATURDAY

Today:
We went to Wal Mart as we promised Autumn, and she got her crocs, plus she gave me some good ideas for her Birthday. She is such an easy going little girl, and a joy to be around. After we got home I picked up and straightened up the Schooner, because I wanted to take the pictures that I had been promising to do. First up is the entertainment center here in the Schooner. Next are pics of the little kitchen cart we bought to solve our pantry problem, cos we don't have one here in the fiver. I was able to get all my cans and some other things in there, as you can see in the pic, plus there is a drawer on the side that I have put some of my spices in. One of the pics has the leaf up that makes the cart surface bigger, and one is a pic of the new microwave after Mike got it installed.

New Boarder:
I found some wall paper boarder that I like better than what is in the fiver. What is in here is just not us, and I feel like I'm in some one elses house all the time. It's just not something we would have picked out, so I will be changing that out in the next few weeks. That is another thing you should make sure you like, when looking for an RV. It's easier to change things in a used RV than a brand new one, or at least you won't feel so bad changing a used one. I feel bad, but it is not a major change, so I'm going to put the new boarder on. I think it's good to live with , and in an RV for a while to see if ya like what's in it, and then if ya don't ya can change it. We've had ours since March now, and I am sure that I want to change the boarder. Mike likes the new boarder I picked out, or at least he says he does! LOL! It's a good idea to get all the things done, that you want to change before ya
head out on the road. So until tomorrow, I'll say See Ya...

SCHOONER WORK

Schooner Work (Fiver) :
Today we straightened up the fiver. I did the dishes, while Mike stripped the bed, and washed the sheets for me. We got most of the things done, so we can relax this weekend. I am so glad to have most of the things that were out of place put back in their place. The Schooner looks so much better, and clutter makes the fiver shrink. I don't care how big, how many slides, or how long it is, clutter closes it in faster than putting the slides in. Anyway, we finished making the bed, and we put the non moving rubber shelf liner across the top, and the bottom of the platform. I hope by using that, it will stop the mattress from sliding down from the head of the bed. I'll keep ya posted on that, and let ya know if it works!

Thrift Shopping:
The other day we went to one of the thrift shops we usually go to around here, and bought a used VCR, that's right I said VCR! A lot of our movies are on VCR tapes, and it just doesn't make since to buy all of them on DVD's since we only watch them once in a while. They are very good movies that we enjoy watching though, and we were missing not seeing them since we didn't have a VCR. The VCR works, but who knows for how long. We only invested $14.00, so it's not too bad if it quits on us. Remember how expensive they were when they first came out? I think our first one cost us almost $400.00. Wow, you can buy a brand new one for $25 to $30.00 now, and we may end up doing that if this one quits on us! There isn't any remote, so we'll have to get up off our behinds to push play, unless we can program our reciever remote to turn it on and off. Oh well, it will be good exercise, right? Lol, just kidding!

Tomorrow:
We are going to take Autumn to Walmart to get a pair of crocs, and maybe an outfit for school. I also want to look at some things to see if she can give me an idea about what she wants for her birthday in September. So wish us luck until then...

ERRAND'S AND TEHYA

Autumn strikes a pose ^
How's this Grandma?
Tehya's pose
What do ya mean I shouldn't cut my own bangs?

Yesterday:
Yesterday we got the new microwave for the fiver, and it's all installed and ready to use! Wow, ya don't know how much ya use a microwave until it quits working! I really missed it that's for sure! Of course I haven't needed it since Mike got it installed! LOL! After we got the microwave we went and got a few groceries and odds and ends we needed for the next 2 weeks.

Today:
Today we had to go get some wood for the wall that Mike is building between the living room, and the garage. We'll probably work on that on Saturday, so we can get the apartment started. We've already got just about everything except the shower and the stove, so I hope those won't be too expensive. I just want to buy a used electric stove, because we're only planing on being at the apartment in the summer part of the time.
We had our Granddaughter Tehya today so she went along with us to run some errands. She got a pair of PINK (her favorite color) crocs, out of Papa! With that sweet little face it's hard to tell her no! LOL! Here are a couple of pics of her. As you can see she cut her bangs all by herself! No more sissors for Tehya until she gets older! She is now 4 1/2 years old, and missed out on kindergarten because her birthday is in February. Then when Autumn got here from school I snapped a couple of pics of her. Autumn is 6 going on 7 September 23rd. So she'll have a birthday soon. She get's to have her first sleep over party, and she is really excited! I'm going to take her shoping on Saturday so she can choose her own crocs too! Ya know ya have to try to keep things even with grandkids. Today I bought more silk flowers for the wedding bouquets I have to make for our son Gary's wedding in November. Also picked up some boquet holders for them. I think I have about 4 more corsages to make, and 4 more bouteneers also. Then I have the 5 bouquets for the bride, and her attendants. I'm going to be busy this next month!

Friday:
I hope we can stay home on Friday. We've been gone the last 2 days, and I haven't got much done here in the fiver, so it's kind of cluttered, and that's not a good feeling in a small space. In order to look bigger, everything has to be in it's place! Tonight I plan on being in the RV Dreams chat room for a while, and doing nothing more strenuous, than playing a few computer games, and maybe catching some of the last night of the Democratic Convention. So until next time...

TOTALY FRUSTRATING TUESDAY !!!!

Today:
Today I went to a doctor to get my prescriptions refilled. That's the only reason I went, because I couldn't get an appointment with my regular doctor, and I was out of a couple. Why is it when you see a different doctor, for refills for meds, the first thing they want to do is change all your meds? It's not like you're going to go back to them again. Man you sure do have to jump through hoops when you see another doctor at a military hospital. He gave me most of my scripts, but the medicine I take for pain, he only gave me 30 tablets. Now I told him, I take two (2) tablets a day. So the way I figure, that gives me exactly 15 days worth of pain medicine. Now I have to try to get an appointment with my regular doctor, and have him write me a prescription with refills on it. He usually gives me 3 months worth at a time with 3 refills. So now I have to make another appointment, use more gas to go back to Wright Patterson Air Force Base Medical Center, and wait for the medication in the base pharmacy for another 45 minutes. Boy am I frustrated with this doctor, and you can bet I won't forget this guy's name, and tell them I don't want to see him if they ever try to give me another appointment with him! Okay, now I'll get down off my soap box before I fall! LOL! I really do hate dealing with some of these military doctors, but I am grateful to be able to go to the base for everything medical, and have all costs covered, by Mike's 20 years in the Military, and our tri care plus insurance. When I had my knee replacement surgery, for instance, it only cost me $18.00, and that was for food for food! That was the whole bill! So I really can't complain too much about a bad doctor once in a while, but it sure is frustrating when you're going through it! So enough said about that.

Microwave:
We're looking to replace "our over the stove" microwave, the one that got fried in the power surge. So far the prices are anywhere form $145.00 to over $250.00! That is buying one from, Lowes, or Home Depot. They are even more than that, at the RV stores, and in the catalogues. Some even have convection / microwaves, of course those are on the higher end of the price range! Right now, I think we'll just go with the cheapest one we can find. Then if our finances are better later on, we'll get a better one. So that's the plan for tomorrow, find a microwave that will go above the stove. Then the Prairie Schooner (our fiver) will be almost back as good as new! That will leave just the converter, and the Dirt Devil vacumn to be fixed. Oh then we need a surge protector for the Schooner too, and that is only about $600.00 for a 50 amp, which is what we have! Gee, our money just flies out of our account sometimes! That is why we do a little bit every payday so it doesn't seem to hurt so bad. Then we need to get some groceries too, and so it goes on, until next time...

MONDAY

Today:
Today I want to try to post the pictures of Alum Creek Stat Park that I couldn't get to post last night. So if it works I should have about 5 pictures on here. Alum Creek Park is a very pretty wooded park, and it's not uncommon to see a few deer once in a while. We always get lots hummingbirds at our feeders when we are there. Two of the pictures it was starting to get dark, but I liked the contrast of them. That's all the pictures for today. I feel very fortunate to have gotten them posted, So I won't press my luck. I'm excited that I'm learning to do the things on the computer, that I didn't know how to do. I've just been using trial and error, and a lot of patience. So far it seems to be working! Tomorrow I'll try to post some pictures of the little island cart that we used to solve some of the storage problems we had in the kitchen here in the fiver.

Bedroom:
Do any of you have problems with your mattress sliding on the wooden platform it lays on? We do, and I think I have figured out a way to fix it. I'm going to use some of the shelf liner that I used in the kitchen cabinets. You know the kind where nothing moves on it? I'm going to put a strip across the top and the bottom under the mattress, and see if that does the trick. Our mattress usually slides down about 3 inches while we sleep. We must move around a lot when we sleep. Okay please, No comments on this! I know the road that some of your minds travel on! LOL! Haha!

Afternoon:
The rest of the day I am going to put lemon oil on the wood in the fiver. It's starting to look a little dull, and I haven't done it since we've had the fiver. I also need to call some prescriptions in so we can pick them up this week. Then I have to finally call my knee surgeon, and get an appointment to see what can be done about my knee, I've been putting it off. I'm tired of using crutches when I have to walk anywhere except the fiver! If I get this stuff done today I'll be able to sit back and relax the rest of the week if I want to. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings, so until then...

P.S.
When I preview this post I don't have a space in the writing, but when I publish this I do PLEASE bear with me, I'm still learning. Anyone have any suggestions as to why this happens?

SULTRY SUNDAY

Today:
It was very hot and humid the whole day! About 4:30 p.m. it started to rain, first just sprinkles, but then we had a real good steady rain, and it is still raining as I type this. I don't really mind though. We really need the rain bad! I kinda hope it rains all night, just as long as it doesn't storm. We don't need any more power surges! If we hadn't gotten rain I was going to wash the windows on the fiver, I was sure if I did that it would rain for sure! LOL! That's usually how it goes though, at least for me.

Chores:
All I did today was do the dishes, and make dinner, which I put in the crock pot. I tried a new recipe, called Asian Meatball Soup, and it was pretty good! It was really too hot for soup, but with the AC running it was fine. Mike ran the sweeper, while I dusted which I don't really consider too much of a chore cos it's so easy, so we got that out of the way today. The rest of the chores will get done tomorrow. I wanted to try some pictures today but Blogger wouldn't cooperate with me, so that will have to wait until another time. Must be the rain is causing interference this evening. Hopefully I'll be able to get this to publish, so until next time friends...
